1. Create a solid circle.

2. There are several ways to create the lighting effect on the bottom. You can use the Dodge tool to lighten it, or you can use the brush tool using white, and a low opacity to lighten it. Another way (which is what I do, but is a little more complex) is to select the whole circle with the Wand Select tool. Then, using the Elliptical Marquee tool with the subtract button selected, create an ellipse inside the selected circle which will leave you with only a small crescent left selected at the bottom. Then right click inside the crescent and click Feather. Select a feather of about 20 and click OK. Then fill in the crescent with a lighter shade of the same color as the solid circle.

3. Next, create a new layer. Use the Elliptical Marquee tool to create an ellipse at the top of your sphere. Using the Gradient Fill tool with white foreground to transparent, click and drag from the top of the sphere to the bottom.

4. Create another layer and make a soild white circle somewhere on your sphere.

5. Using the Text tool, put a number inside the circle. Right click on your number layer and select Rasterize Type. Then you can merge the number layer and the small white circle together.

6. You can rotate it if you want.

7. Now the tricky part. Select the large sphere with the Wand Select tool. With the large sphere selected switch to the small sphere and number layer that you just merged together by selecting it in the Layers palette. Now select Filter> Distort> Spherize. This will 'spherize' the small circle with the shape of the larger one. You can now merge all the layers together. Now you are done with the billiard ball.

8.To create a shadow for your billiard ball, simply duplicate the billiard ball layer and move it somewhere below the other billiard.

9. Go to Image> Adjustments> Hue/Saturation and move the lightness slider to -100. (Or you can just create a black circle below the billiard.)

10. Use the Free Transform tool to flatten the circle.

11. Next, go to Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur and adjust the slider to blur the circle.

12. Move the shadow behind the ball.

13. Use the Burn tool on the billiard to darken the side opposite of the light source.

14. You can create all the billiards and make a whole set. This drawing tool a couple of hours to complete.
